2009, France, digital
Film company: Elzevir Films – EuropaCorp

SYNOPSIS
The appearance of life on Earth was the result of a balance between elements that took billions of years to stabilize. Humans have profited from the lavish resources of the Earth, but have changed the face of the world by the use they have made of it. The harnessing of petroleum and its subsequent over-exploitation are having dramatic consequences for our planet. Human beings must change their behaviour and their way of life before it is too late for them, their descendants and life on Earth.

"We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth's climate.
The stakes are high for us and our children. Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being.
For this purpose, HOME needs to be free. A patron, the PPR Group, made this possible. EuropaCorp, the distributor, also pledged not to make any profit because Home is a non-profit film.
HOME has been made for you : share it! And act for the planet."

  1. Starting with single-celled algae developing at the edges of volcanic springs.
By showing algae's essential role in the evolution of photosynthesis, it also explores the innumerable species of plants which all have their origins in this
    one-celled life form.
In the rest of the first hour of the film, the documentary takes on a more human-oriented focus, showing the agricultural revolution and its impacts,
before moving on to talk about the harnessing of oil, leading to fire, industry, cities and inequality gaps like never before. It portrays the current predicament
    regarding cattle ranches,
deforestation, food and water shortages, the use of non-renewable fossil water, the over-quarrying crisis and the shortage of energy, namely electricity. Cities such as New York City, Las Vegas,
Los Angeles, Shenzhen, Mumbai, Tokyo and Dubai
are used as examples of the mismanagement and wastage of energy, water and food. The recession of marshlands and glaciers are shown in vast aerial shots of Antarctica, The North Pole and Africa,
while mass emigration and refugee counts are shown currently and forecast in the event that these events remains unchanged.
It is at this point that the film begins to focus on global warming and the carbon crisis. Home shows how melting glaciers, rising sea levels and changing weather patterns are ravaging the people who have
least to do with climate change, but also how it soon will affect rich populous areas.
I felt that the actions made by men are causing disonder in the ecosistem and is destroing the planet.
Some actions made by men cause extinction of scies.
The population is growing faster and that makes more discover in the ecosistem.
In come countries , like Africa , the womens need to find wanter in the underground.

The film tells us about planet formation and about the miracle that happened life and how in explain haw the beginning everything was controlled and made sense. The Humanity once lived just with nature gave them, but now rich countries no longer live this way.
For a long time the relationship between humans and the planet was steady, but over years with the evolution of the species began to change. Agriculture was the major changes that were then, Petroleum a huge change in quality of life for some people, the number of people increased greatly and almost everything started to go to the cities and in this moment. The man was replaced by machines.
The cars are a symbol of comfort however the more development there is the harder it is able to save the Planet Earth, they forget that we have to respect our planet, basically we are destroying what we have been offered.
Over-consumption is controlling our planet to a point of exhaustion, despite already having to control measures have to be the union of all men try to save to achieve what we are destroying. It is important to reflect and help not to put an end to life on Planet Earth.

  3. I saw this movie in my English class, made me think and feel that we humans are to give out of our home. We are spending a lot of energy very quickly that we gave our planet than the planet could produce. I think if we don't resolve this issue quickly, I think we and our planet will surfer, as has happened lately. Our climate is unbalanced, the energies of our planet are at the last point, the greenhouse effect is significantly increasing the level of the tide is rising very quickly and there is much more catastrophic than 50 years ago. I think we should act as quickly as possible before the worst happens...
